Short CV:


Eloisa Sardella was born July 19, 1975 in Catania, Italy. She received a M.S. in chemistry from University of Bari, Italy in 1999 (110/110 with Honors) and a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences from the same University in 2003. From 1st Genuary 2008 is a researcher of the Institute of inorganic methodologies and plasmas-CNR Bari Italy (IMIP-CNR BA). In 2007 she received the Best Paper Award at the 18th International Symposium on Plasma Chemistry (ISPC-18, Kyoto 2007).

Research Interests

Plasma processing of materials for biomedical applications. She has experience on plasma assisted processes aimed to obtain: cell-adhesive and/or cell-repulsive coatings; nanocomposite coatings; bacterial resistant films; hydrophilic/hydrophobic coatings or grafted functional groups; immobilization of nanoparticles; nano and micro-texturing of materials to stimulate cell-adhesion. She has experience on the analytical characterization of materials (XPS, SEM, FT-IR, WCA, AFM) and of the plasma phase (AOES).
